Java Install Interrupted

When you POP, there is no STOP

This afternoon went on the subway and a guy reading the newspaper. A front-page headline read: "FUN ON WHEELS." I swear I had to bend down to check who was on motorcycle and not on the new International Convention Centre and Congress (CICCM) that we just pull on the friend Dominique (Perrault) to the glory of Tuñón and Mansilla, that step will , will bring the "We Are the Champions" as the soundtrack every time you step on the ETSAM.

New time-space door next to the Towers Florentine

latter comes to mind after the grant, also the day 26 of Mies Van der Rohe Award 2007 by Leon MUSAC. This is something that sounds great, but nothing more than a lottery to decide a number of colleagues while smoking cigars (like any prize, incidentally). Colleagues among them is Luis Fernández Galiano, which give the same architectural analysis capabilities to a mandrel shaker dancing a chotis. I miss that there is no record of his buildings in the face of the Earth (among other things because that would also invalidate my opinion ... even more), but these little article in the cultural supplement of El País has a whiff of snobbery pos- postmodern who could sit. You can not expect anything good from someone who quotes firecracker John Cage positively (if anyone needs reasons that push you to suicide, I recommend listening to "Vocal Compositions").

colors = No award not

Returning to the decision, the winning project CICCM nothing more than an English court to wrap "groovy" (the quotation marks serve to discredit the adjective in this context.) And above, we have to swallow that "Today the major cultural buildings and business can be structured on a basis of movement similar to department stores in height, which gives these constructions of efficient operation, versatile and dynamic " (text in memory of the project), as if the ultimate value of the architecture was to shorten the time between programs instead of building spaces that excited (which is what I thought was this). The problem, ultimately, it's not the contestants, but that the jury who would laugh occurrences (hello, Dominique), which would not be serious if not being matched by 100 million euros by the taxpayer and the torture of have to see (and live) built crap.

Stump & Pads at work

To quote Nietzsche, talking about the architecture of Schinkel:

"It will be necessary to understand sometimes, and probably very soon, what is needed above all to our cities: silence and space, to reflect extensive sites, big rooms spacious places with high ceilings to bad weather or too much sun, where no noise does not enter carriage or criers ... Buildings and facilities that express the distinction of walking meditation and paragraph ... we want to translate to us in stone and plant, we to walk through us when we walk through these halls and gardens. "

Y olé.

PS: I hope, though, that the award serves at least Saints have no guts to suspend anyone for frivolous (architecturally speaking, of course) this semester.
